Public Notice from the Detroit Transportation Corporation

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Detroit Transportation Corporation (DTC), owner and operator of the Detroit People Mover (DPM), will suspend service operations beginning at 2:00 AM on Sunday, July 20, 2008 through Sunday, August 17, 2008 for major rail replacement.

For over 20 years, the Detroit People Mover has provided a safe, convenient transportation service to the residents, employees and patrons of Detroit’s downtown residences, businesses and establishments.  As determined by a formal assessment conducted by engineering consultants, DTC must undertake the first running rail replacement of the track system, affecting six track curves or about 9 percent of the system's track.

Due to construction, the system will be temporarily discontinued for four weeks until resumption of normal service at 6:30 AM on Monday, August 18, 2008.

We apologize for the inconvenience this program may cause to our patrons.
