The Detroit Transportation Corporation (DTC) requests proposals for a General Contractor for certain People Mover Improvements within the David Whitney Building.

 

The Detroit People Mover (DPM) is a fully automated transit system serving the downtown Detroit core.  The system consists of a 2.9-mile single-lane elevated concrete guide way loop, twelve (12) rail cars, thirteen (13) passenger stations, and the Maintenance and Control Facility (MCF).  The successful respondent shall be responsible for facility improvements to the People Mover station within the David Whitney Building that may require installation and/or rehabilitation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, fire suppression and fire and security alarm systems; access control; new door control systems; new signage; site work; interior improvements and building renovations. Close coordination with the elevator contractor and the construction efforts associated with the developerís team is essential.  This project is 100% federally grant funded.

 

Proposals are to be submitted in accordance with the DTC Request for Qualifications/Proposals No. 06-2014.  Proposals must be received by the DTC, Purchasing Division, 535 Griswold, Suite 400, Detroit, MI 48226 on or before 3:00 p.m. (EST) September 15, 2014.  Proposals received after 3:00 p.m. (EST) September 15, 2014 will be returned to the sender unopened.  Proposals, once submitted, may not be withdrawn for 120 days after the due date.  THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC OPENING OF THE PROPOSALS.

 

The DTC reserves the right to postpone, accept or reject any or all proposals, in whole or in part, at its discretion, subject to the rules and regulations set forth by the DTC, the State of Michigan and the United States Department of Transportation.  Firms or individuals whose names appear on the U.S. Comptroller Generalís list of ineligible contractors will not be considered.

 

The DTC affirmatively assures that no proposer will be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, sex, age, disability, religion, ancestry, marital status, national origin, place of birth or sexual orientation.  The successful proposer will be required to comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

SCOPE OF WORK:  The Detroit Transportation Corporation (DTC) is seeking proposals from qualified statisticians to provide statistical sampling services to meet Federal Transit Administration National Transit Database sampling requirements.

 

The Detroit Transportation Corporation (DTC) is a quasi-public Corporation, which is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Detroit People Mover (DPM).  The Detroit People Mover (DPM) is a fully automated transit system serving the downtown Detroit core.  The system consists of a 2.9-mile single-lane elevated concrete guide way loop, twelve (12) rail cars, thirteen (13) passenger stations, and the Maintenance and Control Facility (MCF).
