The Detroit People Mover and DDOT to help residents transfer between downtown buses during the fireworks
One DPM station is scheduled to close early. DTC Administrative Office closing at 3:00 p.m.
Facility closures in preparation for the Ford Fireworks on Monday, June 25 will require changes in DPM operations for the evening.
The Detroit People Mover (DPM) will operate from 6:30 a.m. – midnight. The People Mover has adjusted service to Renaissance Center and Millender Center stations.
After 2:00 p.m. trains will stop at the Renaissance Center Station, however only guests staying at the RenCen Marriott and Courtyard Marriott hotels will have access to the facility with appropriate ID. All other patrons must exit the DPM Renaissance Center Station by the station’s stairwell or tower elevator (ADA accessible) to Jefferson Ave. Courtyard Marriott guests should exit at the GM Renaissance Center.
DPM trains will bypass Millender Center beginning at 2:00 p.m. on June 25. Guests may enter the hotel using the elevated pedestrian bridge.
Financial District Station is the closest DPM station within walking distance of Hart Plaza and the next station following Millender Center.
All other DPM stations except those named above, will remain open to the public until close. The People Mover fare is 75 cents per ride, and children ages five and under ride free.
Additionally, layovers for DDOT passengers on several east- and west-bound routes in the downtown area will also have the ability to transfer through use of the People Mover. DPM welcomes DDOT passengers traveling the following five bus routes which will end at the DPM Bricktown Station between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Monday, June 25:

DDOT passengers can connect to the Rosa Parks Transit Center by boarding the People Mover at Bricktown and exiting at the Times Square Station. The People Mover’s Bricktown Station is located between Congress and Lafayette.
Passengers at the Rosa Parks Transit Center traveling east should board the People Mover at the Times Square Station and exit at the Bricktown Station to board eastbound coaches. DDOT staff will distribute tokens from both Times Square and Bricktown to ride the People Mover.
Passengers must have a DDOT transfer to receive a People Mover token to use for the ride.
