Free rides, no fare
Detroit People Mover Service Advisory – FREE FARES
The Detroit People Mover (DPM) is allowing passengers to ride for free until further notice. As the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic have affected several activities downtown, the Detroit Transportation Corporation is working to ensure those who require public transit have access to People Mover service.
Changes in station stops and increased cleaning began last week. Trains are bypassing TCF Center and due to the closure of Greektown Casino, patrons may exit the station only using the platform stairwell to street level. All high-touch, hard surface areas are sanitized in the stations and trains using disinfecting agents approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Patience is appreciated as customers may notice very slight delays in train arrivals due to vehicles being serviced for cleaning twice-daily. Details regarding our full scale sanitation activities can be found at https://www.thepeoplemover.com/view/user-news-center/20.
The People Mover values our diverse ridership including residents and visitors, therefore passenger safety is always a focus. We are in constant communication with the City of Detroit and will continue to provide updates which inform our customers and employees of prevention measures.
Resources and new developments are also being shared on our website (www.thepeoplemover.com), Facebook and Twitter pages and signage where necessary.
