Public transportation, shared rides, and taxis are an important transportation resource for riders across the City of Detroit. As a driver or rider, special care should be taken to protect yourself and avoid spreading COVID-19.
If you are sick:
• Stay home and avoid taking public transportation, shared rides, and taxis to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Monitor your symptoms and contact your healthcare provider for additional guidance.

• Keep hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol with you during rides and use when you are unable to wash your hands with soap and water.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
• Avoid contact with people who are sick.
• Avoid shaking hands and limit physical distance with the public (6 feet), especially if you are sick.
• Cover your mouth/nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing.
• If you are having a medical emergency, contact 9-1-1
• If you must travel and are sick, wear disposable face masks at all times when in a vehicle.
• Keep hand sanitizer nearby with at least 60% alcohol and use when you are unable to wash your hands during rides.
• Disinfect surfaces and objects frequently with a focus on “high-traffic” areas, such as seats, handles, and buttons.
• Post COVID-19 guidance and educate riders on ways to prevent the spread of the virus.
• Limit riding capacity to allow for distancing of at least 6 feet between riders.
