Your Detroit Story
“Tell us a little about who you are and what first inspired you to invest your energy in Detroit’s community.”
As a lifelong Detroiter, I’ve always loved the city, but it’s the people—and their passion for Detroit and for one another—that inspire me every day. I’m honored to help lift up those stories so even more people can be moved by them.
Transportation in Downtown: Then & Now
“In your experience, how has transportation in Downtown Detroit evolved over the years, and what role do you see the People Mover playing in that change?”
From horses and streetcars to automobiles, buses, the People Mover, and now the QLINE, transportation here has always been in motion. Seeing all these modes working together today is the best sign for our future.
Favorite Spot Along the People Mover
“Which station or nearby spot along the People Mover route do you love most, and what makes it special to you?”
Grand Circus Park. From the platform, you can see historic churches, beautiful theaters, and sculptures in the park—I could give a whole tour without leaving that spot.
Hopes & Dreams for Detroit
“When you think about Detroit’s future, what’s one message or aspiration you’d share with the community?”
Detroit’s future won’t hinge on one or two big things; it will be shaped by a million small actions. Everyone who cares about this place has a chance to help create an equitable, thriving city. Remember: Detroit is big enough to matter in the world, and small enough that you can matter in it.
