Michigan Central Multimodal Facility Project

Starting in summer 2026, Detroit Transportation Corporation (DTC) will lead the public process for selecting the design team from qualified consultants for the Michigan Central Multimodal Facility (MCMF) project, a new transportation hub located within the 30-acre Michigan Central Innovation District.

The goals of the MCMF are to position the region for greater multimodal connectivity; create a transformational gateway to Detroit, the region, and the State of Michigan; and advance innovation within all modalities, cementing Michigan as a destination for ongoing talent attraction and outside investment.

Development of the facility will encompass design, engineering, site circulation, and engagement of the community and stakeholders.

Proposals will cover a comprehensive scope of work, inclusive of, but not limited to, environmental and regulatory compliance, detailed project design and planning. Development of a mobility and innovation plan for the facility and surrounding area will encompass engineering, architectural drawings, site circulation, and utility coordination and engagement of the community and the community and stakeholders.
